CINEMA LINE-UP

The actress Juliette Binoche will serve as president of the 69th edition of the Berlinale that will take place from February 7th to 17th. The film Farewell to the night by André Téchiné, produced by Curiosa Films, will receive a special screening out of competition at the festival during a world premiere. France tv distribution, who distribute the film, are pleased by its selection at one of the greatest cinema gatherings of the year.

It relates the story of Muriel, who breeds horses and manages an almond orchard with her associate. She is expecting a visit from her grandson, Alex. He is coming to say goodbye before flying to Canada, where he has found a job. Alex is in love with Lila, his childhood sweetheart, and the two have great plans for the future. Yet Muriel soon realises that something is very wrong. Alex's destination is not Canada but Syria.

The film stars Catherine Deneuve in the role of Muriel, Kacey Mottet Klein as her grandson, Alex, and Oulaya Amamra as Lila. This is André Téchiné's 26th feature film and his 8th collaboration with Catherine Deneuve.

Farewell to the night will be launched in theaters by Ad Vitam on April 24th 2019 in France. France tv distribution will also produce and distribute it on VOD and DVD at the return from the 2019 summer holidays.
