DRAMA

SOMETHING TO HIDE

The show(4x52'), produced by Thalie Images, is based on the French justice case, the Iacono case, which was idely talked about from 2000 to 2014.

As a public figure enjoying a happy marriage and a thriving career on the French Riviera, Claude Arbona’s life, embodied by French actor, Daniel Auteuil, is a model of success. A highly respected mayor of Castel-sur-Mer, he is well on his way to becoming a senator. But his life takes a dramatic turn when his nine-year-old grandson Lucas accuses him of rape. The allegations made by the child, whom Claude cherishes more than anyone, embark him on the most hellish journey of his life: 15 years spent claiming his innocence, trial after trial. Shattering his family life and political career along with it. But what if all these years of violated existence were down to one terrifying miscarriage of justice?

DERBY GIRL

Directed by Nikolas Lange and produced by Noon (Kabo Productions), this series (10x22') soon to be shown on france.tv slash, introduces viewers to the secrets of a still poorly-known sport: Roller Derby. Featuring brilliant performances from ‘badass’ female characters, it combines a lot of humor and girl power!

Lola Bouvier, 25, a fallen ice-skating star with an outsize ego, decides to become “the greatest roller-derby champion of all time,” but unwittingly joins one of France’s worst teams: the Cannibal Unicorns!

PARLIAMENT

The cosmopolitan series (10x26') written by authors from different countries and two members of the European parliament, is produced by Cinétévé.

Samy, a young parliamentary assistant arrives in Brussels a few weeks after the Brexit referendum. He is obviously not fit for the job. In fact, Samy doesn’t know much about European institutions and he hopes to get away with it thanks to his wit and cleverness… Well, through luck: he gets quickly assigned an obscure mission : write a report on finning (the act of removing fins from sharks and discarding the rest of the animal). How do you get a report adopted at the European Parliament? Samy has no clue. He has six months to make it, six months to master the secrets of the Parliament.

ANA PUMKIN

The Ana Pumpkin series, (52x5'), produced by Folimage / Les Armateurs, introduces us to the world of a little girl of five years old and her everyday adventures. With the help of her loving, confident family, Ana explores the world around her in her own way, full of joy and curiosity, even if she sometimes finds out that her way is not always the best. In any case, she never gives up and always follows up on her ideas, even the strangest ones! She and her inseparable companion, Buddy the dog, are always there for each other and share everything. As with all best friends forever, they have their squabbles and disagreements, but there is generally a great deal of understanding, laughter, affection, humor and love between them.

DISCO DRAGON

This feel-good series currently in development (52x13') is produced by Mondo TV. It stars Disco and Betty, a hilarious musical duo who have decided their mission in life is to help every child find their Groove!

Grooville is the home of Disco, a dragon who’s crazy about music. A dragon?! Well, yes… but one who can hear each child’s inner groove. When one of those little soundtracks goes off the rails, Disco gets edgy! It’s an alarm signal meaning a child needs help. On his missions, Disco can count on the help of his little neighbor, Betty, a music-mad hothead like him. The highly ingenious girl has an answer to every problem and sets the tempo. Betty’s high spirits and Disco Dragon’s awkwardness lead to some unlikely situations… and plenty of confusion! But a confusion that helps each child to work out how to find the harmony in their inner sounds. And that really is groovy!

GROSHA & MR B.

Currently being produced by La Station Animation, this animated series (52x11') with a very different approach is a children’s take on the detective genre and cult comedy-action films.

Grosha & Mr. B are two cat detectives who work as a team at the Special Bureau of Investigation (SBI). The two agents have diametrically opposed methods and characters, and their job is to solve the wackiest of criminal cases. Grosha, the cat from a modest background, and the aristocratic Mr. B are backed by the SBI’s brilliant team of experts led by Miss Tigri: Turbo, the forensic tortoise, and Paquo and Paco, the two flying-squad pigeons.

EUROPEAN BISON: AN ODYSSEY

The European bison reigned across its continental turf for hundreds of thousands of years. Some of them are still living in Poland's Bialowieza, the last primeval forest in the whole of Europe. Almost 3,000 individuals inhabit this unique ecosystem but they're running out of room. In this documentary, produced by Cocotte Minutes Productions (1x52') and to be aired on France 5,  we follow them until the age of two, at which point they head off on a journey to Romania.

EARTH, A LIVING BODY

Planet Earth is commonly defined as the addition of a multitude of environments and ecosystems. This film, produced by Mona Lisa Productions (1x90') and to be aired on France 5, shows it from a totally original angle – as a giant living body capable of regulating itself in order to maintain a balance at all times. By linking the microscopic and the cosmos, this journey reveals the world of living things from multiple dimensions and takes us on an exploration of unsuspected mechanisms that help keep that balance in place.

THE WOMEN OF NAZI GERMANY

The Nazi regime ended up being a paradox for most German women: formerly confined to a traditional matriarchal role, they experienced temporary social emancipation after being entrusted with some very untraditional responsibilities. Some of them were honorable (standing in for the men who had left for the Front), some horrific (participating in the Third Reich’s crimes).
Divided into two parts (2x52'), the film, produced by Injam Production, first shows how women’s place in society changed from the late 1920s to the Nazis’ rise to power, reducing women to the status of “child-bearers” from 1933 to 1939. Then, in the second episode (titled “Women at War”) we see how, from 1939 to 1945, the pressure of war influenced women’s role in German society and in the framework of the "care policy,” especially in the eastern colonies.
