France tv distribution is delighted to announce the launching of the international distribution of Angkor: The Lost Treasures produced by Iliade Productions & Les Films de l’Odyssée.

Synopsis

Forgotten for over five centuries and rediscovered in the heart of a lush jungle, the ancient city of Angkor continues to fascinate people around the world. But have all its secrets truly been uncovered? An international team of scientists is investigating the mysteries of this lost civilization, focusing on the bronze statuary that once decorated its temples in their prime. Where did the raw materials come from? How much was produced? And how was it crafted?

Blending scientific inquiry, museum exploration, and striking digital reconstructions, this documentary shows how spirituality, architecture, and engineering came together in a city whose grandeur is being brought back to life through archaeology and technology. And it reveals the true face of Angkor’s monuments, all covered with bronze and gold – an astonishing view for the people of the time!
