Nuremberg, the trial of the century

Synopsis

In November 1945, over 350 of journalists, writers, and filmmakers from all over the world converge to cover "the trial of the century" — the prosecution of 21 high-ranking Nazi officials. Iconic figures such as Ray D’Addario, John Dos Passos, Martha Gellhorn, Joseph Kessel et Elsa Triolet are brought together at the Faber-Castell Castle, where they will document the horrors of the Holocaust and report the Nazi barbarity to the world.

For a year and a half, they worked behind closed doors, confronting the ultimate evil. This period was also marked by intense intellectual exchanges, friendships, romances, and political engagements. How did these first-hand witnesses of history perceive the trial? And how can their insights inform our understanding as the issue of crimes against humanity resurfaces in our times?

Catherine Alvaresse, President of KM:

"In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials, we look back at one of the most significant trials of the 20th century.

Those who experienced it firsthand—war correspondents, photographers, filmmakers, and writers from all over the world—will recount how they lived through the trial that forever marked history with the creation of two essential notions that still resonate today: genocide and crimes against humanity.

I'm thrilled to be collaborating with France TV Distribution to maximize its international exposure."
