International sales, acquisition of Season 5 and English remake

 

Bright Minds, a crime series produced by JLA Productions, has been arousing public interest in France since 2019. Aired on France 2, Season 4 has confirmed its success. The show beat audience records: more than 5.7 million viewers, representing 27% of audience share.

 

International sales

Sold in over 80 territories, the series is still traveling the world, including in Japan, where season 4 was a great success, first on the AXN Mystery Channel, then on Japan’s public television channel, NHK.

 

Acquisition of Season 5

France tv distribution is delighted to announce that it has purchased Season 5 (8x52') of the series, which began shooting on November 3, 2023.

 

A remake in English

France tv distribution is pleased to announce the sale of the format rights to UK production company Eagle Eye Drama. The remake, entitled Patience (6x60'), will star actresses Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and Ella Maisy Purvis (Kind of Spark, Malpractice). The series, adapted by Matt Baker who heads up the writing team, joined by Stephen Brady, Sarah Freethy and Daniella DeVinterest, is directed by Maarten Moerkerke and produced by Jo McGrath and Walter Iuzzolino.

Filming on this remake has just begun in Belgium, and will continue in York in the spring. The series will be broadcast on PBS in the USA.
