Acquisition of four new TV movies

 

France tv distribution is happy to announce its acquisition of four new TV movies: Alone at Sea (original title: Seul)The Odd Undertaker (original title: Drôle de croque-mort), The Neighbours (original title: La vie rêvée des autres) and Spy Academy (original title: L'école des espions).

Distributed internationally by France tv distribution, this new programs will be launched during the MIPCOM, which will be held in Cannes from October 16 through 19, 2023.

 

 

Alone at sea

 

Based on a true story.

In November 2000, Yves Parlier is about to take part in the Vendée Globe. Single-handed, without stopovers or assistance, this round-the-world sailing race is regarded as the toughest in the world. Driven by his competitive spirit, Yves is determined to win.

But the favourite of the race breaks his mast in the Pacific. Despite the risks, he decides to repair his boat and continue the race. A technical feat, a sporting exploit, but above all the story of a man who sets out to find himself, Alone at Sea takes us on an extraordinary adventure to the heart of the oceans.

Jean-Frédéric, known as Jeff, is forced to take over his father's funeral home after being dismissed from the police force. He lives a tormented life, which often leads him to act impulsively. And there's a detail that complicates everything: Jeff can hear the dead. And even as an undertaker, Jeff's still a cop: if he senses something is wrong, his instinct is to find out the truth. So when his father is found dead in dubious circumstances, Jeff throws himself into the investigation.

Franck and Karine Petit decide to leave everything behind to fulfil their dream of living in a chalet in the mountains. But when they arrive, they discover that the chalet they were supposed to rent isn’t finished yet. While they end up in a difficult situation, the Petits can only feel bitter to witness that the owners of the chalet, Estelle and Patrick Fleutiot, are living in a dream house and lead a seemingly lavish lifestyle. This jealousy, fuelled by blunders and humiliations, quickly turns into a resentment that will drive them to the unspeakable.
